A third modality that I often work with is called Myofascial Release. It deals with the connective tissue that surrounds all the muscles and bones. When the connective tissue gets tight from injuries and surgeries, it can pull on muscles and bones which can in turn cause restrictions and pain, including referred pain. When there is trauma in the body, it might just remain there, unresolved for years. An understanding of the connective tissue, or ‘fascia’, and how to release it, can often bring great relief even after years of complaints.
